Fort Greene is a central area of Brooklyn centered around Fort Greene Park.
The main Atlantic Terminal station has a shopping mall with Target and Uniqlo, and Whole Foods and Apple Store are located around the station. Fulton St, which runs parallel to Atlantic Avenue on the main street, has fashionable cafes, bookstores, Tatoo parlors and nail salons, and further east, the Neapolitan-style pizzeria “Emily” and authentic New York-style bagels. There are many shops loved by locals, such as the "Bergen Bagel" shop.
Fort Greene is a safe residential area in Brooklyn rather than a downtown area. I often see white families pushing the strollers because of sefety area that is not smelling marijuana very much. It's a very charm town loved by local residents.
